The Boyd County, Nebraska research page is proud to be part of the USGenWeb and NEGenWeb projects.

The USGenWeb project consists of a group of volunteers, working together to provide Internet websites for genealogical research in every county and every state of the United States.  This project is non-commercial and fully committed to free access for everyone.

This site provides a location where new volunteers can find answers to many of the questions they have about the USGenWeb Project. Where help is needed, guidelines for county and state websites, etc. It also provides information that coordinators can review on subjects that may come up after they establish their state, county or town website. Please help out by adopting a county today!

The NEGenWeb Project lost one of their own on March 18, 2006, when Fredric 'Fritz' Dethlefsen passed away. Fred helped many researchers in Saline and Wayne counties and lately in Boyd County. He began with our project in 1997 and helped many people with their genealogical research. He will be sorely missed.

About the NEGenWeb Project

NEGenWeb was formed June 15, 1996, when Dale Schneider created the Nebraska Genealogy Project as a part of the USGenWeb Genealogy Project. At that time, there was very little available on the web for those who were researching genealogy in Nebraska. Over the next year, volunteers were recruited to coordinate the webpages for each county. These volunteers were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the county webpages, which would include listing information on where to look in that county for genealogical research. Contact the volunteer shown on the county page if you have a desire to help or add your data to the database. You may notice a message on a county page indicating it is available for adoption. If you would like to adopt one of these counties, please contact the current coordinator of the page, whose name is listed on their county site, or the State Coordinator.

Note: If your browser does not support the scripted mailto link, use one of these addresses. It may take a little longer to receive a response. Be sure to include NEGenWeb Project in the subject line.
