NOTES: About 1879 or 1880 Henry & Minnie ZARRS along with Minnie's mother Sophia Schwiesow and sister Anna Schwiesow came to the Armada township and bought 160 acres of railroad land three miles northwest of the Greendale post office. Henry was a bricklayer and made his own bricks from the clay on his farm, they moved into Kearney, Nebraska, where Henry joined a crew building the Midway Hotel. They later moved to Watertown, Nebraska, where he started his own brick yard with Alva Fitch, it was in operation for ten years.
