Military: U.S. Army, July 18, 1942-Jan. 6, 1946; served during World War II, earned rank of staff sergeant
Returned to Shelton, was a self-employed barber; was also a meatcutter and worked at Cornhusker Ammunition Plant during the Korean War
Married: Dec. 26, 1964 to Elsie Hinz in Shelton. She died in 1993
Activities: member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the American Legion; enjoyed playing softball for a number of years; later in life, enjoyed listening to his police scanner for area happenings and the weather report
Survivors include: stepson, Vaughn Huckfeldt of Ridgeway, Colo.; also nieces, Carol Beran of Lincoln, Betty Hoeft and her husband, Tom, of Grand Island and Bobbie Quandt of Aurora, Colo.; and a nephew
Was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a brother, Joseph.

Was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a half sister, Georgia Hicklan
