Activities: served several years as secretary on the board of R-3 School; attended Sunday school and church and held many offices, was Sunday school treasurer for 22 years at Williamsburg; in Loomis, joined the Loomis United Methodist Church, was on various committees; transferred their membership to First United Methodist Church in Holdrege; enjoyed all types of sports and supported his boys throughout their school sporting careers; coached midget baseball, played softball and officiated many softball and baseball games; obtained his instrument pilot's license; loved owning and flying his Cessna 210 until his heart attack in 1989; served as Phelps County supervisor, 1988 - 2004; was chairman the last eight years; moved to Kearney, 2005 . Eight days later, began suffering seizures and was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor
