Attended District 106, Pleasant View School through eighth grade, receiving top academic honors; graduated from Ravenna High School in May, 1941; to attend high school, lived with her sister, Irene, above the Macek Pool Hall in downtown Ravenna, and worked at the Cozy Cafe for 10 cents an hour; loved her high school friends and the fun times they always had; came back to Ravenna often for class reunions; at the 2002 Ann-E-Var Parade, rode with her RHS Class of '41, along with Fern Sigler, Bob Rohde and other high school friends

Murphy of Federal Way, WA.; nine grandchildren, Ted Mansfield II, Kjel Holmberg, Bryson Galanti, Anna Holmberg, Aleksander Ferguson, Elan Holmberg, Amanda Murphy, Drew Murphy, and Cole Vreeland; three great-grandchildren, Charlie Galanti, Soren Holmberg, and Samantha Galanti; her sisters, Roma Thomas of Sun City West, AZ, and Irene Nesiba of St. Paul, NE, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Schmale, and her sister Marie Buss
