University, four years at Chadron State College and eight years at Parkland College in Champaign, Ill.; had been in law enforcement

Lived in several towns in Kansas; moved to Gibbon in 1974 and then to Shelton in 1975
Was employed by the Motor Inn in Shelton, then in Gibbon at the turkey plant; worked at Bob's Superstore until health forced her to stop
Activities: enjoyed doing crafts, working on puzzles, reading and gardening
Survivors include her husband; son, Walter "Tinker" Hughan of Shelton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Gwen Eckhoff of Loveland, Colo., Butch and Nora Eckhoff of Scott City, Kan., and George and Karen Eckhoff of Tribune; sister, Dawn West of Yorktown, Va.; and sister-in-law, Carol Eckhoff of Berthoud, Colo.
Was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Nels Eckhoff
