Was new car manager for Kizzier Chevrolet as well as Nelson Chevrolet in Kearney; spent his working career as a car salesman and mentor to young people in the Kearney community; was a director of the Soap Box Derby in the early days in Kearney
Moved to Mullen in September 1970, purchased Schmoker Chevrolet, formerly Mathews Chevrolet; spent his final years in the Sandhills, which he dearly loved
Activities: lifetime member of the Kearney Elks, the American Legion and the VFW; was an avid hunter in his younger days

Activities: was very active in St. Mary's Church in Pleasanton, helped clean and take care of bookwork at the church for many years; was also a lector, religious education teacher, DRE and Eucharistic minister; member of the St. Mary's Altar Society, active in DCCW and served as president of both organizations; raised a lot of chickens over the years and sold eggs to many friends and neighbors; enjoyed being a part of the Majors Extension Club; hobbies included sewing, gardening, canning and cooking, horseshoe pitching, and traveling with her husband; loved to support her children and grandchildren in their school and church activities
