Activities: member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars; lvoed baseball and children played town team ball for years before managing teams; managed American Legion baseball teams and, in 1965, his team won for Redfield its first-ever State B Championship, and also won the Sportsmanship Award; also managed VFW teams and girls softball; followed University of Nebraska at Kearney volleyball, men's and women's basketball, softball and, of course, baseball; was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Kearney Bowling Hall of Fame; was proud of his children and grandchildren, enjoyed his grandchildren's activities, which included all of the above, plus horseback riding, music and soccer
