Grew up in Bentley, Kan., and moved to Lincoln in 1960; after marriage, moved to Kearney, owned Midway Insulation & Siding; retired and moved to Missouri in 1994; moved to Springfield, 2000, and became very active with children's charity, Help Give Hope
