J.J. Exon to serve on the Board of Examiners for County Highway and City Street Superintendents; retired and went into business for himself in a polyurethane spraying and painting company
Activities: enjoyed his family and work; in the years of road work, moved 30 times and made many friends throughout the state; had a strong faith, studied his Bible, loved music, played the harmonica and enjoyed dancing

Margaret was a dedicated farmer’s wife, working in the fields alongside her husband plus taking care of her home and family; was involved in her church, did much volunteer work, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and was a great friend to anyone in need, helped her daughters in their 4-H sewing projects and helped sew most of their own clothes; enjoyed reading and gardening, birdinging; longtime member of the Sunshine Extension Club; was involved in the Elderhostel program and took many trips across the United States; with Louie, was commended for their leadership in Platte River conservation and were instrumental in helping Rowe Sanctuary get started; was especially proud that the sanctuary named the trail through the grounds and along the river the Triplett Trail
