After high school, started working at Vern Reed’s Blacksmith Shop and Nebraska Central Co-op; purchased a farm near Gibbon, 1967, moved his family to their farm home where they still reside; started a trucking business and raised hogs along with his farming; later raised cattle and was very proud of his herd Activities: member of Faith United Church in Gibbon and the Sons of the American Legion; served on the Gibbon Board of Education from 1978-1990, and then as a governing member of Education Service Unit 10 from 1992-2000; enjoyed coaching Little League and golfing along with fishing and hunting in his earlier years; loved attending his children’s sporting events and continued to enjoy attending his grandchildren’s sporting events; loved history and family histories as well as the Wild West; loved antique cars, coffee at Arlene’s Café, straight rows in his cornfields, eating at noon in the kitchen with a table full of help, old jokes and old dirty hats, horses and his pasture up north, where friends helped with round up and brought home the herd and later enjoyed Susie’s abundant cooking
Survivors include: his wife, Susan of Gibbon; daughter, Dana (Mark) Wagner of Austin, Texas, and their children, Micah Reed (Sarah) Wagner and son Corbin of Buda, Texas, Keeley Anne Wagner and her fiancé, Nick Morrow, of Austin, Texas, and Kellen Bailey Wagner of Lubbock, Texas; son, Lance (Julie) Bailey of Gibbon and their children, Katlyn Sue (Justin) Notter and their son, Kannon, of Lincoln, Brie Anna Bailey of Hastings and Alissa Jeanette Bailey of Gibbon; brother, George Bailey of Gibbon; sisters, Marla Dadey of Winterville, N.C., and Patricia Cook of North Richland Hills, Texas; and numerous other extended family and friends

Began his 37-year career with Kansas-Nebraska Natural Gas Co. as a lineman; retired in 1990
Married: Betty Daharsh Johnson, 1967, became “Dad” to Linda Johnson Grimes
Bob and Betty enjoyed fishing, playing cards, antiquing, making and selling crafts and time with their seven grandchildren; Betty passed away June 2, 1987
Married: Earline Wilson Mieborg, 1989; became stepdad to Sean, Tracy and Michelle Mieborg
After this marriage, lived in Julesburg, Colo.; volunteered 2,000 hours at the Colorado Welcome Center and loved meeting the many wonderful and interesting travelers; moved to Crestwood, Mo., in June 2013 to be closer to her adult children; she lost her battle with cancer on Oct. 6, 2015
Activities: was a proud member of American Legion Post 105 for 68 years; enjoyed attending school functions and sports that his grandchildren participated in; in Nebraska, was known as Grandpa to everyone in the small town of Wilcox, where four of his grandchildren attended school

Activities: member of Kearney First United Methodist Church, the Lions Club in Davenport, City Council, Cub Scouts and numerous other organizations; hobbies included woodworking, camping, fishing and golfing; built both family homes, many pieces of furniture, toys and a grandfather clock; also was an avid Husker fan

Activities: was a passionate outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, backpacking and camping; traveled extensively for most of his life, visiting many places in North America and abroad
Survivors include: his wife of 51 years, Phyllis (Fitzke) Straatmann; his son, Michael and wife Lori of Lincoln; and his daughter, Jennifer and husband Jamaal of Madison, Wis. Survivors include: her son Jerry and his wife, Betty Winslow of Kearney; daughter Kristi Winslow of Kearney; grandchildren Jim Winslow, Karen (Mark) Humphrey and Angela Winslow; great-grandchildren Brianna (Jonathan) Petersen and Jensen, Maycee, Eryn, Austin, Jordan and Jaymie Humphrey; along with several nieces, nephews and extended family
Was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and three brothers
