After marriage, lived in Kearney; then taught at Central City High School; moved to Grand Island, was one of the founders of Northwest High School; still was actively substituting at Grand Island Senior High School at the time of his death; started as an industrial education teacher then earned his master’s to help more students as a guidance counselor; taught driver’s education for many years, coached track, football and youth baseball; refereed football and basketball well into his 60s; for many years Ron sold real estate and earned his broker’s license, with his last 20 years at Woods Bros Realty
Activities: member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the National Rifle Association; was an avid gun collector, enjoyed hunting and fishing; was a skilled woodworker and built much of his own home; loved his family and enjoyed any activity that was time spent with family and friends

After marriage, lived in the Lincoln area; then moved to Ravenna where she and Carl took over her father's farm; cared for her family, served at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in many capacities, volunteered for 4-H, and enjoyed Majors neighborhood club; helped Carl manage the farm, and later helped manage the seed corn and crop insurance businesses; after Carl's death in 1985, managed the sales businesses alone, and cared for her father, who lived to see 100 years; moved to Kearney in 1994;
Activities: made lifelong friends at church, in the neighborhood, and in business relationships; enjoyed traveling with their seed-corn friends; in Kearney was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, attended Bible studies, worked with Lutheran Women in Mission and volunteered at church; becuase of her Parkinson's disease, moved into Brookdale assisted living and then at Good Samaritan Socity in Ravenna; met the trials of life and of 2020 with humility, grace and steadfast faith in Jesus

Worked in a variety of roles throughout her life, including waitressing at Grandpa’s Steakhouse, owning Fay’s Café in Pleasanton and leading detasslers in the Nebraska summers; favorite jobs included cooking at Pleasanton High School with her dear friends and working in social work at PCC in Canon City, Colorado; especially enjoyed working at Sangre de Cristo Community Care as the volunteer coordinator for Hospice West
Activities: loved her family and friends, was happiest when her home was filled with them and their love and laughter; loved decorating her home for the change in seasons and all the holidays

Worked as a clerk at Lyons’ IGA in North Platte and then at Heinz Co. for a short while, then returned to Lyons’ IGA; then worked full time for the Nebraska National Guard as an administrative assistant for a few years; returned to Lyons’ IGA as assistant manager; later worked at Coca-Cola Foods Division for several years; retired in 1990, continued to sell coffee for different companies, then fully retired in 1993

Activities: past member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ravenna, current member of Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island; loved to cook and her specialty was cinnamon rolls and doughnuts; enjoyed playing dominoes, Aggravation, pitch and pinochle with neighbors, friends and family; liked polka music; read romance novels in her spare time, and collected recipes from of magazines; had a wonderful family and friends, loved to be with her grandchildren

After marriage, worked for the CSU Department of Forestry while her husband worked for the Atomic Energy Commission in the CSU department of Atmospheric Science; moved to Kearney in 1970; taught for 12 years at the First United Methodist Pumpkin Patch preschool; began at Cabela's in 1990, retired at the age of 80 in 2018; was known as “The Princess” because of her work ethic and her array of beautiful hand sewn clothes; had a voice and manner that could calm and charm the most irate customer
Activities: enjoyed trips to Alaska or the Caribbean and attending a tailgate party at the Governor’s Mansion; member of Kearney First United Methodist Church and of Eastern Star; was an avid reader

Activities: family was most important to Debbie, along with her friends and her job; loved to sew and quilt, cook, bake professional cakes and raise her chickens; will be remembered for always lending a helping hand for bridal and baby showers, graduations and many parties

Married: June 19, 1955, Harold LeRoy May, at the Methodist Church in Riverdale
After marriage, lived in rural Buffalo County, then bought a farm in Divide Township where they currently resided; taught only one more year after being married and then became a full-time homemaker; two daughters were born into the family and the third came as a 10-year-old on Leila’s birthday; worked part time at Coast to Coast Store
Activities: served in the Divide Township election board for many years; active member of the United Methodist Church at Haven’s Chapel, taught VBS, Youth Group, Sunday school and was active member of the United Methodist Women, served as an officer of the UMW for the Central District for many years; volunteered at the Good Samaritan Hospital Surgery Lounge for more than 25 years; was active in the 4-H program and was a co-leader to her daughters’ club; loved her flowers, especially roses and shared them with others; in later years when unable to volunteer, continued to encourage people in her church family by phone; family was very important to her; cared for her grandchildren while their mother worked

Activities: for more than 20 years, Suri and Glades championed many fundraising events for the Assyrian Fun Fair in Kirkuk to benefit widows, needy families and to provide scholarships to students; was honored to have served the Patriarch Mar Shimon and Patriarch Mar Dinkha when they visited St. George in Kirkuk; was also an excellent cook and baker and was often in charge of the communion bread; was an amazing gardener, growing many fruit trees from seeds; also was multilingual and spoke Aramaic (Assyrian), English, Armenian, Turkish and Arabic; was like a second mother to her younger siblings; worked in faithful service to St. George, the Virgin Mary and St. James; was a devoted member of St. George Orthodox Christian Church and the St. George Ladies Society in Kirkuk and also in Kearney
