A man of many talents, made a living as a salesman, tractor mechanic, motorcycle mechanic, welder, fabricator, machinist, toolmaker for Baldwin Filters and gunsmith; worked with the Farmers Union State Exchange; built and installed recoil absorbers, adjustable stocks and release triggers for trap guns
Activities: had many hobbies and interests including drag racing, hunting, motorcycle riding and racing, lead guitarist for a country and western band, and trap shooting; with Al Stover was a pioneer in the early days of drag racing in Kearney; was selected as a line chief on the technical inspection crew for the National Hot Rod Association 1958 National Finals at Oklahoma City; was also proud of wife Joan who often beat him in the quarter-mile; in later years, enjoyed traveling to the Southwest to local country music festivals and to visit relatives; was a lifetime member of the NRA

Activities: member of St. James Catholic Church in Kearney; member of the Gibbon American Legion Auxiliary Bradley Buck Unit 310 for 34 years, held positions of county secretary, county vice president, county president and local secretary, vice president and president for courtesy and publicity for a number of years; past member of the Gibbon Extension Club, Birthday Club and Friendship Craft Club; enjoyed family and friends, helping others, dancing, bingo, yard work, but especially making her grandchildren happy by spoiling them

Was the fourth of seven children born to that union; moved back to the U.S. while in junior high, lived in Huron, South Dakota; moved with family to Lincoln, graduated from Lincoln Northeast in 1975; attended Dakota Bible College in Huron, earned his bachelor's degree in sacred literature
Married: Sandy Scheurer, Nov. 21, 1976, in Rapid City, South Dakota
After completing college, accepted their first full-time ministry position at Superior Church of Christ in Superior in the fall of 1983; in the spring of 1995, moved to Countryside Christian Church in Kearney, worked as the chaplain at St. John's Center, a nursing home with the Good Samaritan Society; his relentless work ethic, sense of personal responsibility, and desire to show genuine love to everyone God put in his path led to much growth in the churches he served; in fall of 2007, moved to South Dakota to care for Sandy's father, accepted the position of senior minister at Black Hawk Community Church, hated the snow, but he loved the people; formed many relationships and was heavily involved in Convoy of Hope and other inter-ministry activities; in the spring of 2018 accepted their final position at Missouri Valley Christian Church in Iowa; the last two years were full of joy and community; his legacy is Hope, wanted everyone to know Jesus Christ was the reason for that Hope. Even in his most painful moments, Hope was at the forefront of his mind
Activities: enjoyed many activities, including smoking meat, going on road trips, going to football games, and even doing laundry; was thrilled to be a father and would spend the rest of his life teaching his son what it means to be a man who lives, loves and leads well; especially enjoyed loving on his family, especially his two beautiful granddaughters
Survivors include his wife, Sandy; son, Brock and daughter in-law Jenna, granddaughters, McKenna and Johnna; brother, Chuck; sisters, Jeannie and Zana; and several cousins, nephews and nieces

After marriage, moved to a farm near Yoder, Wyoming, returned to farm north of Elm Creek in 1962; later moved to a farm and new home south of Elm Creek; moved to Kearney in 1966, remained there until her passing
Stayed busy as a mother and farmwife, working alongside her husband and raising her family; was an excellent cook, and made many meals for family, friends and help; specialties were her German kraut berouks (like Runzas) and bread; loved gardening, canning and selling her pickling cucumbers at the Farmers Market in Kearney; also loved playing the nickel slots; was also proud to work on the Election Board in Elm Creek for many years and was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney; always made the best of what she had; never missed an opportunity to express her love for family, and how proud she was of each and every one of them

Worth and later worked as an electrician with Houston’s Brown amp; Root, and later passed the Master Electrician test; began his own residential contractor company, and later returned to Brown & Root where he was hired as an Electrical Superintendent, which led to frequent relocation for him and his family, and the acquisition of several different state electrical licenses; gained experience in refineries, chemical, conventional, and nuclear power, paper and paper products, as well as residential and commercial; retired from Brown & Root with 30+ years
Married: Beverly June Ann in January of 1998
In 1999, he and Beverly started building their beautiful Elm Creek home and barn on the homestead property; did much of the electrical and carpentry work themselves; loved buying calves, and made a special mix of grain, powered milk etc. so his calves would fatten up faster without chemicals; had a very loving, gentle, and kind spirit; was known as the peacemaker of the family; loved the Lord and served Him faithfully

Graduated from Boelus High School, then farmed with his father near Boelus; grew up with a strong work ethic, work all of his 95 years, leveled land up until two days before he was admitted to the hospital with COVID-19
Military: Spent 18 months with the Army in South Korea, was discharged with the rank of master sergeant; in the Army, ran a road grader, bulldozer and cable scraper building major roads in Korea
Bought his farm, house and tractors on his own; raised cattle and hogs as well sugar beets, milo, soybeans and corn
Married: Feb. 6, 1955, Jeanne Stubblefield in Shelton; she died on May 12, 2017
After marriage, farmed near Shelton
Activities: was a master Mason, member of the Scottish rite; was Knight Commander of the Court of Honor and Coroneted a 33-degree Inspector General Honorary; served as the Master of Kadosh for the Hastings Consistency, was also the president of the Hastings Scottish Rite Foundation; was a Noble in the Tehama Shrine with the Fort Kearney Shrine Club, enjoyed being in parades with his Shriner Tin Lizzie tow truck; member of Eastern Star, Toastmasters, T-bone Club and the Grand Island Saddle Club; was active in Farm Bureau, served on the Jackson Township Board, and also served on the board of directors of Southern Public Power for many years; member of the Shelton United Methodist Church, served on the building committee to build the educational unit; later transferred his membership to the Wood River Methodist Church and served on various committees
Survivors include his daughters, Lori Christensen and granddaughter Kathryn, Camille (Allen) Clague, and grandsons, Nathan and Ben; son, Brent (Sheryl) and granddaughter Alexa (Brandon) Grzywa and great-grandsons, Emmet and Harrison; grandson, Justin (Jill Peters) Whitefoot and granddaughter, Tana (Cooper) Downs; and sister-in-law, Lenore (Baker) Stubblefield
Was preceded in death by his wife; parents; in-laws, Dale and Adelaide Stubblefield; brother, Delmar and sister-in-law Lois Whitefoot; sister, Donna and brother-in-law Riley Eriksen; and brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Stubblefield

Married: Frank Kucera Sr. in 1950 at Norfolk; had four children together
Moved to Grand Island, 1964; divorced in 1969; during this time, worked at Cec and Dell's, The Cow Palace and Schimmer's Steakhouse; later after the children were grown, worked at Ace Hardware, Flowerama at the Conestoga Mall, Bosselman's M&M Warehouse and at Sam's Club; enjoyed her work and had a passion for visiting with her customers; coworkers and customers were like family to her
Married: Kenneth Wiese in 1973; he passed away in 2012
Activities: loved the holidays, especially making Christmas candy and cookies, and being with family
In 2017, moved to Wedgewood Care Home (now Azria Health Broadwell), resided there until her death
Survivors include: her children and spouses, Artis and Kathy Fullwood of Arvada, Colorado, Frank Kucera Jr., Steve and Rona Rae Kucera and Stuart and Brenda Kucera, all of Grand Island; brother, Mick and Deb Vavra of Kearney; sister, Betty Jorgensen of Kearney; and other relatives and friends
Was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved sister and brother-in-law Milan (Mike) and Barb Psota of Ravenna

Activities: loved to hike, bike and explore the area; was known for his creativity; had a passion for writing, reading, music and watching movies; was a Legos enthusiast, had ambitions to travel the world
Survivors include his mother, Becky Williams of Kearney; father, Bill Williams of Wichita, Kansas; siblings, Trevor Williams and wife Carly of Aurora, Derrick Williams and significant other Karen Realpe of Kearney, Krista Williams of Kearney and Morganne Williams of Kearney; nieces and nephews, Sawyer and Celia Williams, Rory Realpe-Roe; grandparents, Edward Williams of Papillion and Harlan and Patricia Bach of Watertown, South Dakota; longtime friend, Cristina Garcia of Kearney; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins
