They immmigrated from Germany in 1900 according to their entry in the 1910 census for Greeley Co. NE. Known children are William, Auguste (my grandmother), Martha, & Otto. - PETERSON posted by Paul Schonstrom on Friday, October 11, 2002
- Seeking any information on Mons Peterson who immigrated from Sweden to Kearny Junction in 1881. Wife: Kjersti (or possibly Christine); children: Hanna, August, Bengta (Betty) and Karolina (Caroline). It is believed Kjersti died but it is uncertain if it was in Sweden prior to 1881 or after reaching the US. Mons later remarried. One child from the 2nd marriage was called Carrie which may have been the previously mentioned Karolina (Caroline). Carrie was always referred to as a half-sister to Hanna - Hanna being my grandmother. Carrie was last known to be living in the western part of Nebraska but I do not remember the name of the town or to whom she may have been married.

- SMITH posted by Dan Reese on Thursday, December 26, 2002
- Kearney Daily Hub, March 19, 1909
David Freeman (Fremont?) Smith, a brother of William Frank and Otis Grant of Kearney, died unexpectedly of heart failure. Mr. Smith's brothers were immediately notified, also his wife at Sutherland, interment being made in the Kearney cemetery. He had a severe illness while living in Guthrie, Oklahoma, which left him in poor health. Mr. Smith was between fifty-three and fifty-four years of age at the time of his death. One son and one step son besides the wife comprised his immediate family, both boys being married.
(W.F. & O.G. Smith owned W.F.Smith Realty in the City National Bank building.) Shortly after this, no reference of the Smiths can be found in the Kearney area.
