Watson Boulevard
Also called "Seedling Mile", so-named because it was a "seedling"
of the planned coast-to-coast paved Lincoln Highway. There were
several other "seedling miles" in Nebraska and other states, all
built with community donations and local builders and equipment.

The trees were planted by H. D. Watson, known as the
"Father of Alfalfa" in Nebraska. The mile of shaded
paved highway passed the State Hospital for Tuberculosis
and the State Industrial School.
