1. Second Lieutenant, Edward F. Pitke,    Son of Frank Pitke, Gibbon, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., February 28, 1913, as a member of Co. L., saw service on the Mexican border in 1916-17. Later re-enlisted for service in the World War, and trained at Camp Cody. Did not see any foreign service, and is now in the regular army, at Camp Taylor, Ky.

2. Private Bruce S. Harte,    Son of E. S. Harte, Gibbon, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., June 26, 1918, and trained at Camp Greenleaf, Ga., and Camp Sevier, S. C., for duty with Base Hospital Corp No. 64. Saw service in France with that unit, and received his discharge May 10, 1919.

3. Private Raymond E. Walter,    Son of L G. Walter, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service at Ft. Logan, Colo., December 14, 1917, and trained for duty in the Aviation Service, at Ft. Worth, Texas. Discharged Feb. 27, 1919. Resides at Sheridan, Wyo.

4. Private Ira D. Eagle,    Son of David Eagle, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., Oct. 3, 1917, and was trained at Camp Funston, for duty with Hdq. Co., 355th Infantry, 89th Division. Saw service at St. Mihiel, and Meuse-Argonne offensives, and Army of Occupation, and received his discharge June 2, 1919.

5. Private Charles L. Wilson,    Son of Mrs. Laura Hostutler, Harrison, Idaho
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb, August 29, 1918, and trained at Camp Funston, for duty with 70th Inf., 10th Div. Discharged February 5, 1919; farming on R.F.D. 5, Kearney.

6. Private John C. Foreman,    Son of Martin Foreman, Silver Creek, Neb.
Entered the service at Kearney, Neb., Oct. 3, 1917, and was trained at Camp Funston, for duty with Hdq. Co., 355th Infantry, 89th Division. Saw service at St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne offensives, also Army of Occupation. Received his discharge June 2, 1919.

7. J. Glenn Dungan, Ph. M., Third Class,    Son of E. H. Dungan, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service at Omaha, Neb., May 22, 1918, and was trained at the U. S. Naval Training Station, San Francisco, California, for duty in the Medical Corps.

8. Edward H. Shields, Q. M. Third Class,    Son of Patrick Shields, Kearney, Neb.
Entered the service at Denver, Colo., August 3. 1918, and trained for service in the U. S. Navy. Discharged Sept. 3, 1919.

In The Service

   The editors were unable to obtain photographs of the following men of Buffalo County who were in the service. Many of them were transcients, boys who had no parents or relatives in the county. Of a few there were no acceptable photographs to be had. Another handful was indifferent to the work, and preferred not to appear among the likenesses of Buffalo County's fighting men. That they may receive the credit which is theirs for their service, of whatever nature it may have been, the names of those Buffalo County men whose pictures are not published herewith are listed below:
