When Cass County was first opened for settlement there was an immediate response. The area increased in population rapidly. A number of towns never went beyond the paper stage....Filing of papers. Other towns were rapidly formed and survived for several years. The ability to attract a rail line was the basis for survival of those towns.
In the year 1885 there were 12 Precincts of Cass County.
