Matthew Faulkner
August 3, 1916, p 5, c 3
Word was received here Monday, by S J Faulkner of the
death of his father, Matthew Faulkner, at Miln, Wis. in the Soldiers home. This
death occurred Sunday afternoon. The elder Mr. Faulkner made his home here with
his son last year.

Fred Foster
July 20, 1916, Dakota County Herald, page 1, col 3
Fred Foster, a deaf mute, 28 years old, drowned in
five feet of water at Crystal lake yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. Two
companions, also mutes were at his side. Sheriff George Cain of Dakota City, who
happened to be at Crystal lake, took charge of the body pending the arrival of
W.E. Allen, of Homer, coroner of Dakota county. The body was removed to a
cottage a short distance from the bathing beach. Foster lived at 521 Jennings
street. He was a tailor, and was employed by the Boyer-Hollenbeck company,
Fourth and Nebraska streets. He had lived in Sioux City for several years. A
brother, Louis Foster, and his mother live at Rosedale, Mo., and a sister, Mrs.
J.M. Kennedy, lives in Lexington, Ky. The death of Foster was the only accident
reported from the Sioux City water resorts yesterday.

The body of Fred Foster, a deaf mute, 28 years old,
who was drowned in Crystal lake Sunday afternoon, was taken from Homer Wednesday
to Rosendale, Mo., for burial. A brother, Louis, arrived Monday evening to
accompany the body of Missouri.

John Flider
February 25, 1910, Dakota County Herald, page 5
John Flider an old and highly respected citizen of
this place died at St. Vincents hospital last Sunday where he had gone ten days
before treatment for Mayocardites, age 73 years. Mr. Flider was born n Germany.
He leaves eight children – they are, Joseph, John, Charley, William, Edward and
Henry, and Mrs. Louis Krumwiede of Dakota City, Wednesday, where funeral
services were held. Interment was also there beside his wife who preceded him
several years before. Rev. Gensickan of Ponca, conducted the funeral services.

Mrs. Helen Fitzpatrick
July 27, 1916, Dakota County Herald, p 5, c 2
Word was received her Monday announcing the death of
Mrs. Helen Fitzpatrick at Kansas City, Mo., of dropsy. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was the
only child of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Carrabine, who for many years resided in Dakota
County. Deceased was about 36 years of age, and besides her parents, leave a
husband and one son, 16 years old. Mrs. Ada Sherman, of this place, went to
Kansas City a couple of weeks ago, and was with the family at the time of Mrs.
Fitzpatrick death.
D M Neiswanger left Monday evening for Lincoln and
from there will go to Kansas City, Mo, to attend the funeral of Mrs. Helen
Fitzpatrick.
