Patrick Twohig

Services for Patrick Twohig, 83, Omaha, who died June
21 in an Omaha hospital after a long illness, were held Saturday at St.
Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux.
The Rev. James Fitzgerald officiated. Burial was in
St. John’s Cemetery at Jackson.
Mr. Twohig was born Sept. 3, 1894 at Willis. He
married Treva Foster in 1920 in Omaha. He was reared at Willis. He worked at St.
Joseph Hospital in Sioux City for many years as an engineer.
He retired about six years ago and moved to Omaha. He
was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in South Sioux and the Cathedral
Parish in Omaha.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Loran T. of
Omaha and Edward V. “Ned” of South Sioux; four sisters, Mrs. Fidelis Connery of
Mitchell, S.D., Mrs. Jack (Margaret) Smith of Huron, S.D. and Mrs. Ed
(Charlotte) Nolan of Plankington, S.D. and Mrs. John (Helen) Clemens of Omaha;
19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Worth N. Thompson
April 26, 1978, South Sioux City Star
Services for Worth N. Thompson, 80, 116 E. 23rd St.,
South Sioux, who died Tuesday in a Sioux city hospital after a brief illness,
will be held today (Thursday) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church
in South Sioux.
The Rev. Denny M. Silk will officiate. Burial will be
in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. A flag presentation will be made by
Cownie-Church Post No. 307, American Legion.
Mr. Thompson was born Aug. 15, 1897, at Danbury, Iowa.
As a young boy, he attended Homer schools. For the last 55 years, he lived in
South Sioux City. Mr. Thompson had been employed for 37 years as a millwright
for Amour and Co.
He married Bertha L. Rummel Oct. 10, 1925 at Elk
Point, S.D. Mrs. Thompson died April 26, 1968. He married LaVon Meyer May 9,
1973, at South Sioux City.
Mr. Thompson was a member of St. Paul United Methodist
Church in South Sioux City and a member and past commander of Cownie-Church Post
307, American Legion in South Sioux City. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors in include the widow; two daughters, Mrs.
Paula Wall of Norwalk, Calif., and Mrs. Gayle Pearson of Lyons; two sons, Noel
of South Sioux City and Wayne of Aurora, Colo.; two stepsons, Bruce Meyer of
Duluth, Minn., and Joseph Meyer of Shelburne, N.H.; four step-daughters, Mrs.
Carolyn Cochrane of St. Paul, Mrs. Nola Gann of Downey, Calif., Mrs. Sara Corbin
of Stanwood, Ill., and Mrs. Joan Spencer of Mendota Heights, Minn.; 13
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Harvey E. Terrell
January 25, 1996, South Sioux City Star
Harvey E. Terrell, 63, North Sioux City, S.D., died Friday, Jan. 19, 1996, at
his residence following a long illness.
Mr. Terrill was born Aug. 26, 1932, in Salix, Iowa. He moved with his family to
Jefferson, S.D., in 1942 and to North Sioux City in 1948. He married Beverly
Rosenbaum, Feb. 17, 1951, in South Sioux City, Neb. The couple made their home
in Elk Point for two years and then moved to North Sioux City. He served in the
U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed at John Morrell Packing Co.
until 1992, when he retired due to poor health.
Mr. Terrill was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local
1142. He was an avid camper, fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Allen and Bryan Terrill; both of North
Sioux City; a foster son, Cecil (Monica) Schmitz of North Sioux City and eight
grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 24 at Berkemier Funeral Home with the Rev. Susan Miller,
chaplain of Hospice of Siouxland, officiating. Burial was at Memorial Park
Cemetery.
