Dawson County NEGenWeb Project
Check out the other counties in Nebraska. Transcribers are needed, so please consider transcribing a census:
Note: SK Publications has donated the 1870 and 1880 Dawson Co. census images to the USGenWeb Project Archives. They are being transcribed and will eventually be available in text format. These image files are very large, and hard to read at times, especially from the 1880 scanned images. We are not able to do any lookups in the census. Once they have been transcribed, they will be available for you to check out yourselves.

Special note from SK Publications about the 1880 Dawson County census:
The 1880 Dawson County, NE, Census contains 70 pages (census images) in Enumeration Districts 001 and 166 through 168. The bottoms of many of the pages were extremely dark, making the handwriting impossible to read. Consequently, the bottom portions of these pages were re-scanned larger with maximum brightness; these bottom portions will be found under the following extra filenames:
x001-02, x001-05, x166-06, x166-08, x166-10, x166-11, x166-14, x166-16, x166-23, x167-01, x167-02, x167-06, x167-08, x167-09, x167-10, x167-11, x167-12, and x168-10.
The name of each image file is the page number. (In the case of 1880, 1900, 1910, and 1920 census, the file name includes both the Enumeration District and the page number.)
The following is a breakdown showing which county subdivisions are enumerated in each Enumeration District:
Overton & Wood River: ED 001
Precinct #2: ED 166
Coyote & Cozad Precincts: ED 167
Precinct #3 & Platte Precinct: ED 1681900 Dawson County Federal Census (partial)
