HUENEFELD, KLEIN, KLINE posted by Ron Klein on Saturday, January 21, 2006

Am seeking information on Andrew Klein who appears in the 1880 census in Coyote/Cozad as a single farmer, age 23 born in Germany. Coyote is now known as Darr. He married Louise Huenefeld in Grant Co, WI in Sept. 1881. He next appears in Thurston Co, WA in 1920 census with the surname Kline. He and his large family all continued to use Kline instead of Klein.
At least 5 children were born in Nebraska from 1883 to about 1900. The family moved to Thurston Co, WA in about 1912.
I am trying to find out where in Nebraska the family might have lived, but have been unable to find them in the 1900 or 1910 census. If anyone has any information or suggestions, please email me. It may have been Dawson County, but I do not know where.
Andrew was the son of Jacob and Christina Klein. The family immigrated from Germany to the Milwaukee, WI area in 1869. Andrew's brother George (my g-grandfather) lived in the Stop Table area SW of Callaway in Custer County from about 1885 to 1914/1915.
Any information will be appreciated.
