William Auge, JR.
William Auge, son of William and Catherine (Kreuchling) Auge, was born at Ponca, Nebraska, May 4, 1875. His father, a native of Germany, was born in September 1843, and came to Nebraska in 1860. He was a hardware merchant and for ten years was president of the Security Bank of Ponca.
His death occurred at Ponca, February 18, 1925. Catherine, wife of William Auge, Sr., was born in Germany, and died at Ponca, in March, 1907.
Educated in the public schools, William Auge Jr., the subject of this sketch, was graduated from Ponca High School in 1892. He was the editor of the school paper and active in school affairs.
On September 22, 1897, he was united in marriage to Emma Draper at Ponca. Mrs. Auge was born at Martinsburg, June 14, 1875. There is one son, Maxwell, born May 1, 1905, who is a college graduate, and attended the University of Chicago two years. He is engaged in the brokerage business, also.
Mr. Auge is a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, the church choir, and the Masons. His sports are golf, tennis and baseball.
