Wedding Anniversaries - The Journal Extends Best Wishes.
Mr. and Mrs. John Berens
Milbank, S. D. - Special: Children and other relatives of Mr. and Mrs. John Berens helped the couple celebrate their golden wedding anniversary here April 12. The anniversary occurred March 8. But the celebration was delayed because of bad weather and road conditions.
Mr. Berens was born February 6, 1863, in Oberlenken, Germany, and Mrs. Berens was born on the same date in 1868 at Port Washington, Wis. They were married March 8, 1886 at Ponca, Neb., where they lived for 38 years. They moved here in 1920.
Eight of the 11 children of Mr. and Mrs. Berens are living. They are: Mrs. Leo Schmitz, Akron, Colo.; Mrs. J. J. Byrnes, Big Stone City, S. D.; M. P. Berens, Ponca, Neb.; J. W. Berens, Milbank, S. D.; Mrs. Leo Harty, Sioux City, Ia.; Mrs. George Hibbison, St. Joseph, Mo.; Earl Berens, Fort Crook, Neb.; and Raymond Berens, Fort Omaha, Neb.
