Douglas G. Hayes, 75, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000. He was born in Elwood on July 16, 1924 to Leland J.and Creda M. (Mairs).
He was a retired salesman of Sears & Roebuck and former owner of the Border Inn in Dorchester. He graduated from Elmwood High School, was a WW II Army Veteran, and was a member of the American Legion Post No.3, and Lincoln Horseshoe Club. He was an avid bowler, Corn-husker football fan and card player.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia (Hedden-Dresden); son, Kevin of Lincoln; daughter, sons-in-law, Cheryl and Richard Lynn of Beaverton, Ore., Janalee and David Medinger of Lincoln, Stacey Hayes of LaVista; stepson and ex-spouse, Steve and Kim Hedden of Crete, step-daughters and spouses, Kathryn and Gary Wallace of Overland Park, Kan., Michele and Dee Stovall, Lincoln; three grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, one brother, three sisters, and many friends.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Jan. 8,2000 at 1p.m.
