Roy William Pimper, son of Peter Julius and Marie (Schieke) Pimper, was born on April 16, 1912 near Ohiowa. He passed away Nov.14, 1999 at Creston, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church in Ohiowa. He attended school in Ohiowa.

On May 24,1933 he married Velma Meeske at St. John's Lutheran Church in Daykin. They moved to a farm west of Ohiowa. In 1940 they moved to a farm near Pocahontas, Iowa. While living at many locations throughout their married life, they moved to Mt Ayr in January of 1971 and to Afton in 1986.

While very active in farming, he was also employed in construction work building bridges, homes and highways. He and Velma also managed the Clinton Motel for five years while in Mt. Ayr.

Roy and Velma were blessed to spend 66 years together before death separated them.

The Pimpers had no children. However, Marilyn Meeske, who was a niece, lived with Roy and Velma for almost five years. She died at the age of 21 - Additionally, Roy and Velma' made a home for Roy's father and half-sister Anne.

His hobbies included his knife and watch collections, reading books, listening to music, and helping other whenever possible.

He is survived by his wife, Velma a half sister, Anne Nielsen and husband Franklin of Thorton, Iowa; plus several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother Raymond, three half brothers, four half sisters, and one step sister.

Services were held Nov.17, 1999 with burial at Summit Hill Cemetery in Pocahontas, Iowa.
