Thomas D Pumphrey, 67, of Pomona, Calif died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999 at Chino Valley Medical Center. A remembrance service was held Friday, Jan 21 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Grand Island. The Rev. Don Larmore officiated.

Pumphrey was born June15, 1932, in Shickley to Glenn and Sadie (Pape) Pumphrey. He grew up in the Shickley area and after graduation he at-tended Doane College in Crete. He served three years in the U.S. Army.

He married Marlene (Krupicka) on Aug. 3, 1954. They resided in Grand Island. They had one daughter, Kim. He later moved to California where-he was employed as property manager. He later remarried, Kaye Pumphrey and was widowed.

He was a member of Charles P. Rowe American Legion Post No.30 in Pomona, Calif.

Survivors include his daughter, Kim (Mrs. Jon) Rojewski of Grand Island; a sister, Donnis (Mrs. Bill) Mountford of Lincoln; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Kaye, and his parents.
