Edward "Eddie" Salzman, 71, of Front Royal, Va. died Tuesday, Nov. 23 at his son's home in Bristow, Va.

The funeral was conducted Saturday, Nov.27, 1999 at 2 p.m. at Front Royal Presbyterian Church by Dr. C. Thomas Rhyne. Burial, with full military honors, was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Salzman was born Jan.15, 1928, in Schuyler, son of the late Jacob and Henrietta Foltz Salzman. He with his family moved to Geneva in 1935. He attended public school and graduated from Geneva High School.

Eddie worked for the Brower Creamery Station until he volunteered for the service of his country. He was a retired Marine veteran of World War Hand the Korean War and served as a member of the Presidential Cordon for Presidents Kennedy and Johnson at their inaugurations.

He was a Master Mason with Landmark Lodge No.103, AF & AM, Sioux City, Iowa and a member of Front Royal Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Salzman; four sons, William E. Brown Ill of San Marcos, Calif., Douglas W. Salzman of Bristow, Va., David Salzman and Glenn Salzman, both of Charlottesville, Va.; three daugthers, Gloria S. Brown of Berryville, Va., Stacy E. Brown of Purcellville, Va., and Karen L. Siggia of Manassas, Va.; four sisters, Henrietta Radek of Lincoln, Lillian Crosley of Loveland, Colo., Irene Morrison of Aurora, Colo., and Delores Lynch of Charlottesville, Va.; a brother, Donald Salzman of Greeley, Colo.; four grandsons; also brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were members of the U.S. Marine Corp. and Russell Reinhart, Doug Smith, Bill VanCleve, James Ross, Larry Poe and Steve Poe.
