Riley Vaughn Cole

 

Riley Cole, son of Mr. And Mrs. Cole, died Sunday (February 5, 1893) morning at his residence in Bennett precinct and was buried Monday in the Grafton Cemetery, Reverend Fluke of Sutton preaching the sermon at the house.

 

Deceased was one of the pioneer settlers of Bennett precinct, coming here with his parents in 1871 and a year later settling on a homestead where he had resided up to the time of his death.  A few years later he married, and he leaves a wife and eight children to sorrow over his untimely demise.  He was a devoted to his family and home, respected by all his neighbors.  He was sick but about one week and his death was un-looked for.  The sympathy of all the people is with the sorrowing wife and children and parents.

Riley Vaughn Cole was the son of Fones Lewis Cole and Lucy Jane (Brown) Cole.  Riley was born August 1, 1850 in Broadalbin, New York.  His grandparents were Jeremiah Cole and Hannah Lighthall-Cole as well as John Brown and Sally A. (Brown)Waite of Montgomery/Fulton County NY.

Riley’s wife was Cornelia Oryall-Cole and his children were Carrie Ella, Fones E., Dora Lucy(twin), DeLora Marie (twin),  Frank Riley, Forrest Joseph, Latie Blanche and Grace Stella (2wks old).
