Mrs. Anna Vejraska died at St. Elizabeth’s hospital at Lincoln Tuesday evening, August 31, 1937, after an illness of two weeks.
She was born in Tr_ice, okres Nove Strascci, Czechoslovakia,
Europe, May 3, 1874, being at the time of her death 63 years, 3 months and 28
days of age. She came to this vicinity
as a young girl.
In 1893 she was united in marriage to Vaclav
Vejraska. To this union were born eight
children, seven of whom survive, two
sons, Joe Vejraska of Milligin and Jim Vejraska of Ohiowa, five
daughters, Mrs. Julia Krisl of Ohiowa, Mrs. Anna Laun of Tobias, Mrs. Albina
Hamouz of Tobias, Mrs. Emma Strauss of Ohiowa, and Mrs. Agnes Koehler of
Geneva. Others who survive are sixteen
grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends/
She located in Fillmore county, where she and her husband
farmed and reared their family. After
the death of her husband in 1934 she moved to town, where she was living at the
time of her death.
Burial occurred from the Milligan auditorium Thursday,
September 2, with Rev. K.C. Zavadil of Wilber officiating. The Pasek quartet sang. Burial was in the cemetery south of town.
