Obituary for John Owens

John Owens was born in Scott County, Kentucky, July 11, 1823, and died in Fillmore county, Nebraska, October 29, 1909.

When a child, he moved with his parents to Indiana. In 1845 he was married to Joanna Hummer in Decatur County, Indiana.

Fourteen children were born, nine living.

In 1854 he moved to Jasper County.

His wife died August 13, 1876.

He went to Nebraska in 1902.

The children are Mrs. Rebecca Minnick of Exeter, Nebraska, Louis Dudley, John W., James, Joseph, and Gilbert of Geneva, Nebraska, Mrs. Martha Ashmore of McCool, Nebraska, Mrs. Rosetta Sloan of Kansas City, Missouri, and Frank R. of Cairo, Missouri.
