Obituary of Engel Reichers

Engel Maria Reicher was born Aug. 2, 1848 in the province of Hessen, Germany. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in her home town. When 2 years of age she was very ill, resulting in spasms during which she lost her speech and hearing. When she was 5 years old her parents emigrated to the U.S., settling at Beecher, IL.
Miss Reicher moved with her sister, Mrs. W. Schroeder, to Nebraska 41 years ago. She made her home with the Schroeders until her death. 25 years ago she broke her leg in a fall. 7 years ago she dislocated a shoulder. She had not been well since April but had been able to get around by using a chair. Wed., June 18, she fell breaking a leg a few inches below the hip joint and dislocating the hip. This unfortunate fall and her age caused death, which relieved her suffering Sunday night, June 22, at 11:10. She was
aged 75 years, 10 months and 20 days.
Miss Reicher is survived by her sister, Mrs. William Schroeder of Ohiowa, two sisters in Minnesota and a brother in Beecher, IL besides other relatives and many friends.
The funeral service was held at the home at 2:30 p.m. and the Methodist Church at 3 p.m. The services being in charge of Rev. E.A. Knight and Rev. J.A. Bahnsen. Interment was in the Ohiowa Cemetery.
