COMMITTAL SERVICE IS HELD AT FAMILY PLOT
IN THE CHAPMAN CEMETERY
Funeral rites for Mrs. Eleonora ISAKSON, widow of Salin ISAKSON, were held at the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home yesterday afternoon. The Rev. John RUPLEY, pastor of St. Paul's English Lutheran church, conducted the service and Mrs. A. A. ROESER and Miss Pauleen MEYER, accompanied by Mrs. Harold MENCK, sang two hymns. Burial was in the family plot at the Chapman cemetery with W. H. GUSTAFSON, Henry HAGRMAN, Eric BERGREN, J. R. NELSON, Al GREEN and Elza URY as casketbearers. Mrs. Eleonora Helena ISAKSON, nee WESSLEN, was born at Uppsalla, Sweden, Nov. 11, 1866, and came to America with her parents when 15 years old. (see note 1 ) They settled at Chapman, where she attained womanhood and on Sept. 21, 1890, married R. R. DAHLSTEDT (see note 2 ). Mr. and Mrs. DAHLSTEDT made their home at Chapman where four children were born of their marriage, one child died in infancy and a son, Robert, died in 1914 (see note 3 ). Mr. DAHLSTEDT passed away in 1899 (see note 4 ). On August 30, 1901 (see note 5 ), Mrs. DAHLSTEDT and Salin ISAKSON were married. Mr. and Mrs. ISAKSON made their home in Chapman until 1903 when they moved to a farm near Marquette, their home for 38 years. Five children were born to their union, two dying in infancy. Mr. ISAKSON died May 31, 1939. Mrs. ISAKSON made her home in Aurora and Chapman before coming to this city two months ago to make her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin ISAKSON, 1414 West Sixth street. Mrs. ISAKSON was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Death occurred last Thursday following an illness of three years duration. Surviving are four sons, Paul DAHLSTEDT of Marquette, Leon DAHLSTEDT of Washington, D. C., Edwin ISAKSON of this city and Theodore ISAKSON of Chicago, Ill; a daughter, Mrs. Edward VOGT, this community; a brother, August WESSLEN, of Hillsdale, Wis., and ten grandchildren. Three brothers, John, Carl and August WESSLEN (see note 6 )and three sisters, Anna, Marie and Louise (see note 7 ), also preceded her in death.

Donna L. Irwin. 60, of Grand Island died Tuesday. Jan. I3, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center from a long-term illness. Services will be at 3 pm. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church's Gollaher Chapel. The Rev. George Wheat will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 pm. Thursday at Apfel-Butler-Geddcs Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Irwin was born on Feb. 8, 193 7, at Lincoln to Evelyn Gillham. She was raised by Paul and Evelyn Magnuson. She grew up in Central City, Archer and Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High. She married James Grandon in 1955 in Wichita, Kan. The couple lived in Wichita. She married Robert Irwin in July 1960 in Grand Island. She lived in Grand Island, where she worked at the Comhusker Army Ammunition Plant before working at Kmart as electronics department manager for 25 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the City Singers. She enjoyed camping. fishing, bingo, bowling and coaching girls softball. Survivors include two sons, Timothy L. Grandon of Grand Island and Jimmie L. Grandon of Lexington; three daughters, Teresa R. Reinertson and Catherine A. Miller, both of Lexington, and Tammy Galusha of Grand Island; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her mother, Evelyn P. Magnuson of Grand Island; one sister, Nancy A. Slattery of Tulsa, Okla; and two brothers, Samuel C. Magnuson of Casper, Wyo., and Steven E. Magnuson of Gillette. Wyo.She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Paul Magnuson.
