A chapter of Royal Arch Masons (R. A. M.) was formed and chartered on November 14, 1873. The first meeting place of this organization was in the second story of the frame building at 114 N. Locust street. Before the organization was chartered its officers . . . [and] members (see list below). . . . The Chapter has grown from a membership of twenty-seven in 1876 to 169 in 1919.
