DEATH SUMMONS MRS HULDA TESCH
WAS RESIDENT OF HOLT COUNTY NEARLY 50 YEARS; FUNERAL HELD WEDNESDAY
Mrs Hulda Tesch, 68, pioneer woman and resident of this community for nearly 50 years, passed away Monday evening, Nov 30, at the home of her son, Ernest, on the old Tesch homestead, 16 miles northeast of Atkinson. Mrs Tesch had been in failing health for several years and her final illness came only three days before her death.
Funeral services were held at Presbyterian Church, Atkinson. Burial was made in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Hulda Eda Tesch, nee Buckman, was born July 28,1863 at Ischstadt, Saxony, Germany. In 1874 with her parents, she came to America, settling near Hortenville, WIs. There the family lived 3 years, moving to Jackson, Minn in 1877.
On July 7,1883, the deceased was married to Fred W Tesch, who had taken a homestead 16 miles northeast of Atkinson. There they lived until 1915. To this union were born 2 sons and 4 daughters, 1 daughter dying in infancy. Those who survive are Ernest, Fred of Atkinson, Mrs Anna Alfs of Norfolk, Mrs Laura Wright of Amelia, Mrs Louise Siebken of Casper, Wyo. 9 grandchildren, 2 brothers, 3 sisters.
In 1895 Mrs Tesch was soundly converted to God under the labors of Rev A Kersten and joined the Evangelical Church. She lived a consistent Christian life and was a generous financial supporter of her church. Last spring she became a member of Presbyterian Church, Atkinson. She was known as a kind, loving providing mother; one that was ever interested in the temporary and spiritual welfare of her family.

Richard Hagen Thomas, aged 77, died here last Saturday following a long illness. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr Thomas was born at Louisville, Ky, May 30,1854. He came to Holt County more than 30 years ago and most of his life was spent in farming, with the exception of many years ago when he carried mail from Atkinson to Amelida. He was employed at that work for 15 years.
He was married to Mrs Mary E Young, Aug 20,1912, at O'Neill. His wife, survives him. Mr Thomas at one time was a member of the Modern Woodmen Lodge.

FUNERAL SERVICE HELD FOR MRS N J TULLER
Pioneer Atkinson Woman Laid to Rest in Woodlawn after Long Illness
Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon for Mrs N J Tuller, one of this county's early residents, who passed away Friday morning, May 8, following an illness of six months duration. Services were held at the home, the Rev Wm G Vahle, pastor of St John's Lutheran Church, conducting the rites. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Florence Alvira Jones was born May 2, 1865 at LaCrosse, Wisconsin. At the time of her death she was 66 years of age.
When 12 years of age she moved with her parents to Hampton, Iowa.
On May 16,1880 she and Mr Nelson J Tuller were married and in the same year they came to Holt County, settling in Stuart. Later they moved to a homestead in the Green Valley Community where they lived for many years.
Two years of Mr and Mrs Tuller's married life were spent in Montana and in 1902 they moved into their home in Atkinson, where they have since resided.
Mrs Tuller was one of the most active members of the local Royal Neighbor Lodge and held office in that organization for many years. The members of the lodge attended the funeral in a body.
Six months ago her health began to fail and from this illness she never recovered.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Nelson J Tuller; two children, Mrs Bertha Berger of Corydon, Iowa and Mrs Lettie Collins of Atkinson; eleven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Minnie Doyle of Las Vegas, Nevada; one niece and two nephews.

MRS RADCLIFFE DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
FUNERAL SERVICES HELD YESTERDAY, WAS RESIDENT HERE FOR NEARLY 50 YEARS
Mrs Matilda Radcliffe, passed away Tues evening at the Atkinson Hospital where she had been for medical treatment the past few months. Mrs Radcliff was 65 years of age and for nearly 50 years was a resident of this community.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Atkinson. Burial was made in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Matilda Mlinar was born in Ringgold Co, Iowa , Dec 24,1866. She came to Holt County in 1884 with her parents, who settled on a homestead in the Green Valley neighborhood southwest of Atkinson. Here her parents lived until their death.
She was married to James Radcliffe on Nov 23,1893. To them were born 2 children, a daughter who died in infancy and a son, Edward Radcliff of San Francisco, California, who with his wife and baby Donald, was here with his mother during her last illness. Mrs Radcliffe's husband died 15 years ago.
About 4 months ago Mrs Radcliffe's health began to fail and she was taken to the hospital for medical attention. Through her many years of life in this community a great number of friendships were made among her neighbors and acquaintances, these knowing her as a kind neighbor, loving friend, and a true Christian.
Mrs Radcliffe, was one of a family of 15 children, 8 of whom survive her. Four brothers, Fred, Frank, Joseph and John Mlinar live at Atkinson. Three sisters also live here. They are Cora Tasler, Mrs Barbara Jones and Mrs Pauline Davis. One sister, Mrs Mary Reiser, lives at Butte, Nebr.

JOE MLINAR, HOLT PIONEER, DIES AT 83
Joseph A Mlinar, 83 year old pioneer settler in this community, died Wed Oct 21, in Atkinson Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past 4 wks.
Mr Mlinar had been a resident of this community for 69 years. He retired from the farm and moved to town 9 years ago. Suffering a stroke 6 years ao, Mr Mlinar recovered and was quite active for some time, but his health had been failing for the past year and a half.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church, Fri afternoon
Pallbearers will be six of Mr Mlinar's nephews. Anton Tasler, Lawrence Pacha, Adolph Mlinar, all of this community, and Lawrence Jonas of O'Neill, Harry Mlinar of Stuart and Dan Reiser of Butte. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cem.
Joseph A Mlinar was a son of Frank and Caroline Kodytek Mlinar. He was born March 9,1870, in Ringgold Co, Iowa and came to Atkinson with his parents 69 years ago.
He was married to Miss Libbie Kubart at St Joseph Catholic Church in Atkinson on Feb 3,1898. For a short time after their marriage, they lived on a homestead 20 miles sw of here, then moved to a farm 1 ¬ miles se of Atkinson, where they lived until they retired from the farm and moved to town 9 years ago.
Mr and Mrs Mlinar celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1943, receiving their neighbors and friends at an open house at their home. The family dinner was served at Memorial Hall. All six members of the original wedding party were present for the occasion. Their 55th anniversary last Feb was observed quietly with a family dinner at their home.
Mr Mlinar is survived by his wife, Libbie; sons, Charlie and Edward, both of Atkinson; dau, Mrs Clarence (Mildred) Johnson of Stuart; Mrs George (Helen) Beck of Atkinson; Mrs Merlin (Eva) Quigley of Bellevue; Mrs Dwaine (Hazel) Lockmon of Stuart; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren- 1 brother, Fred, and 2 sis, Mrs Anton (Cora) Tasler and Mrs Charles (Pauline) Davis, all of Atkinson.

ADOLPH PACHA, 61, LIFE LONG RESIDENTOF THIS COMMUNITY DIES
Adolph Pacha, 61, a life long resident of this community, died at his home in Atkinson last Fri. He had been in ill health for several years, but continued to live on his farm in the Green Valley community southwest of here until 2 and « years ago when his condition became so bad that he and his wife moved to town.
Funeral rites were held at the Methodist Church in this city last Sun afternoon.
Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery. The pallbearers were Charley Mlinar, Adolph Mlinar, Harry Mlinar, William Jonas, Joseph Mlinar, and Anton Tasler, all of whom are cousins of Mr Pacha.
Adolph Pacha, only son of Mr and Mrs Frank Pacha, pioneer homesteaders in this community was born in Minburn, Dallas Co, Iowa July 16,1882 and died at his home in Atkinson, Nebr, Nov 26,1943, at the age of 61 years, 4 months and 11 days.
He moved here with his parents when he was 2 years of age, and grew to manhood on a farm in the Green Valley neighborhood southwest of Atkinson.
He was united in marriage to Mary Kubart on May 5,1908 at St Joseph's Church in Atkinson. To this union were born 2 sons, Lawrence and Arthur, who with their mother mourn the passing of a loving husband and father who always did everything in his power to make the home comfortable and happy.
His health became so poor that nine years ago he retired from active operation of his farm. He and his wife moved to Atkinson 2 and « years ago. He was a patient sufferer, always cheerful and never complaining about his misfortune of being denied health and comfort.
The respect and affection which Mr Pacha won from his many friends was shown by their kindness and sympathy during his long illness.
He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs Pauline Jones and Mrs Effie Kubart, both of Atkinson, and 3 grandchildren, Artha Lee, Norman Clifford and Mary Maxine, and a great many other relatives and friends who mourn his death.

Mrs Mary Pacha, 84,a life long resident of the Green Valley community and widow of the late Adolph Pacha, died Sat, Feb 24 at Atkinson Memorial Hospital.
Services were held Mon in the Methodist Church
Pallbearers were nephews, Leo Kramer, Charles and Harlan Kubart, Robert and Ray LeMunyan and Edward Mlinar. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mary Clara Kubart Pacha, dau of the late Joe and Anna Kubart, was born in Chicago, Ill, Aug 10, 1883. They moved south of Atkinson in 1886 where she grew up on the Kubart place, now occupied by Mr and Mrs Charles Kubart.
She was married to Adolph Pacha at St Joseph's Church in Atkinson May 5,1908 and lived in Green Valley until 1941, when they moved to Atkinson. They were the parents of two sons, Arthur and Lawrence.
Mrs Pacha was an active member of the Methodist Church and of its Woman's Society of Christian Service. She worked in one of the Woman's Society circles as long as her physical condition permitted.
She is survived by her sons, both of Atkinson, one sister, Mrs Victoria LeMunyan; six grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov 26,1943; parents; one sister, Mrs Joe (Libbie) Mlinar and two brothers, Theodore and James Kubart.

ADOLPH MLINAR
Funeral services for Adolph Mlinar of Stuart were held Wednesday morning at St John's Lutheran Church, Atkinson with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Rodney Kaup, Melvin Kaup, Delbert Rossman, LaVerne Rossman, James Shepherd, and Timothy Shepherd.
Mr Mlinar was born 1893 and died August 20. He married Clarrissa Bitney in Atkinson on July 3,1918.
Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Mrs Irene Shepherd of Omaha, Mrs Bernard Rossman of Atkinson and Mrs Anton Kaup of Stuart and one son, Harold of O'Neill, 17 grandchildren, and 22 great grandsons.

Wife Passed Away Six Months Ago; Funeral Services Held at St John's Church
George Hanson McNair, 72, farmer, who formerly lived northeast of town, died at his home in Atkinson Sat, July 20, Mr McNair had lived in this community about four years. He farmed on the Hill Place five miles northeast of town after coming here in 1931, and later on the W L West farm. He moved to town in Jan, this year. Mr McNair's wife preceded him in death only six months ago.
Funeral services were held at St John's Lutheran church in this city Monday. Burial was in Woodlawn Cem.
George Hanson McNair was born in Lee Co, Iowa, April 7,1863 and died at his home in Atkinson, Nebr July 27,1935 at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 21 days.
He was united in marriage to Florence Nancy Klinder at Percival, Iowa on Dec 21,1891. To this union 8 children were born; seven of whom are living. They are: Paul of Chappell; Leata Jacobson of Chappell; Alma Defreece of Sterling; Ethal Jensen of Cotesfield; George and Floyd and Mrs Florence Mlinar of Atkinson. One child died in infancy and the mother passed away on Feb 6,1935. Mr McNair is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral Will Be Held at 2 pm Today at St John's Lutheran Church in Atkinosn
Mrs George H McNair passed away Wed Feb 6, at her home in Atkinson. Death came to her as a relief from the intense suffering she had endured for many months in an illness that kept her bedfast since last August. She had been in ill health for the past five years. Mrs McNair was 58 years of age.
Funeral services will be held at St John's Lutheran Church in this city this afternoon. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Florence Nancy Klinder was born in the state of Kansas on Oct 8,1876. At Percival, Iowa on Dec 21,1891 she was married to Mr George H McNair. They resided at Percival for a number of years and in the early days moved to Nebraska. They came ot Holt County in 1931 and resided on the Hill Place 5 miles northeast of Atkinson. Last year they lived on the W L West farm 9 miles north, having moved to town only a few weeks ago.
Her death is mourned by her husband, George H McNair, and 7 children; Paul of Chappell, Alma DeFreece of Sterling, Leata Jacobson of Chappell, Ethel Jensen of Cotesfield, George McNair, Florence Mlinar and Floyd McNair all of Atkinson. One child died in infancy. Mrs McNair's father died in Aug 1933, but she is survived by her mother who is 94 years of age and resides in Hydro, Oklahoma. One brother, 3 sisters and 11 grandchildren also mourn her death.

Dale was born on Feb 21,1917, near Tekamah to Andrew S and Julia E (Brown) Gilbert. He spent his early years on a farm near Tekamah.
In 1924, he moved with his parents to Kanorado, Kan. In1937 the family moved to Stuart. He began working for his Grandfather, J H Brown. On March 27,1940, he was united in marriage to Alice M Tasler at Stuart. To this union 3 daughters were born.
In 1952, the family moved to the Sandcreek community, northwest of Atkinson. They farmed and milked cows until retiring and moving to their acreage near Atkinson.
Dale enjoyed hunting and bowling, reading and playing cards. He was always friendly and kind. He was a man who practiced his Christianity everyday.
Dale is survived by his wife, Alice of 65 years; daughters, Mickey and husband Butch Braun, Joyce and husband Jay Kelly, all of Atkinson, and Julene and husband Dennis Simonds of Lincoln; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one niece, five nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Lauren, Lyle and Marvin; and 3 sisters, Ann, Erma and Evan.

GEORGE BECK DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
George H Beck, 59, retired farmer who lived in the Cleveland and Atkinson Communities all of his life, died Mon., Oct 31, at the Atkinson Memorial Hospital.
Mr Beck had been ill with multiple sclerosis for many years.
Funeral services were held Wed afternoon at the Atkinson Methodist Church
Burial was in Woodlawn Cem, Atkinson.
George Henry Beck was the son of James D and Rose Wright Beck. He was born at Stuart on Jan 4,1901, and grew to manhood in the Cleveland community, north of Stuart.
He was married to Helen Mlinar of Atkinson on March 19,1925 at Gregory, SD. They became the parents of one son, Duane.
They made their home on a farm in the Cleveland community for several years and then purchased a farm 11 miles north of Atkinson, where they lived until their son returned from military service, ten years ago. They then moved to their present home in Atkinson.
Mr Beck is survived by his wife, Helen; one son, Duane, who lives on the farm 11 miles north of Atkinson; three grandchildren Sheryl, Sandra, and Lowell; three brothers, Richard of Mesa, Ariz; Roy of Lebanon, Mo; and Clarence of Chester, Cal; and one sister, Amanda Beck of Nevada, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

HEART ATTACK IS FATAL TO 33 YEAR OLD FRANCIS MOHR, PRESIDENT OF THE WHISKER CLUB.
Francis A Mohr, 33 year old president of the Atkinson Whisker Club and father of four young children, suffered a heart attack at Stuart, Sun evening, July 3. He and two of his sons, Willis, 9, and Clayton, 6, had attended the stock car races at Stuart that evening.
After the races, Mr Mohr and the boys went to their car, and got in to start home. Before he got the car started, Mr Mohr became sick and got out. He called to Willis, then collapsed at the rear of the vehicle.
A rescue team from Stuart used 2 and « tank of oxygen in a vain attempt to revive the stricken man. He was dead upon arrival at the Atkinson Memorial Hospital.
Mr Mohr had suffered a heart ailment for several years, a condition which prevented his entering military service. He had not been feeling very well the few days preceding his death, but had not missed a days work at the Galyen Motor Co in Atkinson, where he was employed.
Previous to working at Galyen's, Mr Mohr was proprietor of an up town service station, now operated by Arlen Brown. It is the former R O Jarvis station, where Mr Mohr worked until Mr Jarvis sold out a few years ago.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Wed afternoon,
Burial was in Woodlawn Cem.
Atkinson business places were closed during the funeral.
Francis Alvin Mohr, son of John and Ethel Mohr was born April 15,1922 in Atkinson. He was graduated from Atkinson High School, where he was outstanding in dramatics, in 1939.
He was married to Miss Violet Seger, dau of Mr and Mrs John Seger of Stuart, on May 25,1945. The ceremony being performed at the Atkinson Methodist Church by the Rev W C Birmingham, who then was pastor here.
They became the parents of three sons and one dau.
Mr Mohr was president of the Atkinson Whisker Club, the organization which is sponsoring the 1955 Hay Days and 75th Anniversary celebration in Atkinson. He was also a member of the Atkinson Methodist Church, the Atkinson Volunteer Fire Dept, and Lodge No 111, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
He is survived by his wife, Violet; sons, Willis, (, Clayton 6 « and Thomas 2, a dau, Francis; parents Mr and Mrs John Mohr Sr of Atkinson; one bro, John Mohr Jr of Atkinson; 3 sis Mrs Melvin (Doris ) Andrus, and Mrs Tommy (Alice) Dunn, both of Atkinson and Mrs Bob (Mary Lois) Cunningham of Denver, Colo; three nieces and two nephews.
