"Clippings of School Days"

Thursday evening at the school house the sophomore class entertained the freshmen, juniors and seniors at a very enjoyable party. Nearly all the pupils were present and games were played out door until a late hour whenm all went into the basement of the school house where several games were played before a very delightful luncheon, consisting of sandwiches, cake, pickles, punch and ice cream was served cafeteria style. All departed having had a most enjoyable time and voting the Sophomore class a most entertaining host.    Tuesday evening, Supt. and Mrs. W. C. Clark entertained the Seniors and teachers of the Boelus high school at a very delightful party, at their home in the south part of town. A most enjoyable social evening was spent by music and conversation and a most entertaining feature of the evening was a few readings given by Miss Grace Fitzpatrick of Palmer. At a late hour a delicious luncheon of cake and ice cream was served.

"Cabin Party"

The Seniors and their sponsor, Miss Arminta Schurr, enjoyed a picnic at the cabin of one of their members, Homer Berck. Boat riding was also enjoyed.

"Class of "23" Baccalaureate"

The baccalaurete services were held in the Boelus church Sunday evening. The church was filled with visitors and Rev. Pedersen delivered a most excellent sermon. The choir was composed of ten girls from Mrs. Hood's room. The decorations were in the class colors, peach and brown, and some very handsome cut flowers and potted plants were also used. The graduates, five in number, were as follows: Anice Eriksen, Ruby McFarland, Esther Sorensen, Homer Berck and Arnold Hansen.

"Annual school picture"

The Boelus school and all the patrons of the district held their annual picnic in Kenyon's pasture Thursday. A large number of both children and parents were in attendance and games and baseball furnished the entertainment of all and the usual good picnic was enjoyed.

"Picture taken"

The senior class, Arnold Hansen, Homer Berck, Ruby McFarland, Anice Eriksen, Esther Sorensen, accompanied by their sponsor, Miss Minta Schurr, autoed to Grand Island Monday to have their graduation pictures taken.

Last Friday evening the class of '23 held their first class reunion at the home of Esther Sorensen. Homer Berck, who now resides in Denver, Colorado, was home on a short visit, and was the guest of honor. The entire class was present, namely: Esther Sorensen, Homer Berck, Anice Ericksen, Arnold Hansen and Ruby McFarland. During the early part of the evening a sumptuous dinner was served, the remaining time being spent in recalling past experiences of school days, after which they departed, hoping to meet at some future date and all be present.

Between acts Miss Beatrice Ericksen rendered a piano selection, little Norma Sorensen sang a solo, Miss Pauline Rockwell favored the audience with several vocal selections. Miss Lower accompanied both girls. Miss Esther Sorensen gave a reading. The following high school boys, Orville Dowzer, Homer Berck, Milford Hedglin, Leo and Cleo Quest, Elmer Rasmussen, Fred Bax and Arnold Hansen, sang several songs.
The play was highly appreciated by the large audience and much credit is due Miss Minta Schurr, sponsor of the Junior class.
