I am looking for information on my gggrandparents Hans and Hannah Sorensen who lived in the Nysted area from about 1880 until their deaths (Hannah in 1887 and Hans in 1936) and are buried in a Nysted cemetery. I believe Hans also had several brothers (one named Christian) and sisters in the area, as well as a father, Soren ERICKSEN that is also buried in a Nysted Cemetery.

My grandfather was born in Omaha, Nebraska, in the year 1877. His name was Frederick Franklin GILDAY. He never spoke of his family & rumor has it that he was either adopted or given out for farm work. I traced him back to St. Joseph, Missouri, to the year 1900, through a marriage index. On his death and social security forms he list his parents as unknown. I found a Rosetta Gilday in the Howard County Marriage Book 1 (July 1872- Jan 1885). She married a J.R. McLaughlin. I have just about exhausted every avenue to my grandfathers family genealogy. I would gratly appreciate any assistance you could provide in this matter. Thanking you in advance for your kind consideration.

I am searching for information on the FAY family, many of whom setled in St. Libory. I am specifically seeking info on Peter FAY b. 1838 in Ireland and his wife Elizabeth McPhillips FAY b. 1835 in Ireland. I believe they may have died in Nebraska as that is where many of their children resided. I know that Peter's father's name was Lawrence, mother unknown, and do not know who Elizabeth's parents were. Peter and Elizabeth's children were: Catherine, Patrick J., Margaret, Peter, Hugh, Mary, Theresa, and Edward. Any connections that can be made would be greatly appreciated.

I am the grandson of Svend SORENSEN and Rekke HENDRICKSEN who lived in Boelus, Elba, and maybe St Paul. He farmed around Cotesfield for Pete Rasmussen and also worked in a store in Cotesfield. He also was a cashier at the Elba State Bank from around 1920 to 1932 when he went to Julesburg and with his son, my father, had a grocery store. He died in Julesburg. I am looking for information on my father as to schooling and my mother Flora Sheik SORENSEN who was a schoolteacher. They are both deceased and I find I have very little information concerning them. My father used to subscribe to the Howard County paper so there may be some records in there if I knew how to get in touch with them.
