MCMENAMY, SMITH posted by Wendy Smith on Saturday, June 17, 2006

I am looking for any information about Cornelius "Mike"(1830-1909) and Isabelle (1829-1893) MCMENAMY, who moved to St. Libory, NE in the 1880s from Iowa. They had at least 2 children who also lived in St. Libory: Mary M. (1856-1923), who was married Thomas Woodward, and Eliza Jane (1863-1938), married to Joseph Francis Smith (1864-1928). Cornelius and Isabelle are buried in the St. Libory cemetery, but not together. I am also looking for information on Joseph Francis Smith's parents, Frank (1819-1905) and Mary (1822-1901) SMITH, who are buried in the St. Libory cemetery. Thank you.

HOLLECHEK, HORKY, NOVAK posted by Debra Smith on Thursday, June 22, 2006

I am confused because I have seen the same children's names on several censuses that have a different father's first name. I have seen James, Vaclav, and Vencl HORKY with wife Kate or Catharine HORKY on the 1880 Kelso and 1900 Warsaw census. Does anyone know if these are the same people? Also, what happened to Mary HORKY NOVAK? Her daughter Clara seems to have been raised by her grandparents named above. My last question is whether anyone knows the name of the mother-in-law of Vaclav HORKY? From the 1900 Warsaw census, it looks like Mary HOLLECHEK born in 1815.

If anyone has information on the Strzelecki family that settled in Elba around 1850, I would appreciate any details. My father Albin Strzelecki moved to Farwell along with his sister Emilia Strzelecki who in turn married Paul Lukasiewicz.
Members of the family are Raymond who moved to Lincoln and Valentine who lived in Farwell and a number of other areas. Matilda married Al Goc and moved to Omaha along with her sister, Clara who married a Stilmoch.
Thanks
