Our Mission
“To collect artifacts and archival materials associated with the history of Fairbury and Jefferson county, and to interpret that history through exhibits and other educational activities.”

Public Assistance
The public is encouraged to offer suggestions for improvements to the museum and to offer suitable items for donation.  Such items should be in good condition and coincide with our mission.  We regret that do to space limitations we are unable to accept every artifact offered to us.

New Location
The Fairbury City Museum has been located for many years on the west side of the square in downtown Fairbury.  The museum opened in its new location, the former West Ward School, in the fall of 1998.  This move has enabled us to present our collection in a much more pleasant atmosphere and encourages visitors to more fully explore all the treasures which had previously been hidden.

On Display
On permanent display is a large collection of the “Campbell Brother’s Circus” memorabilia, period displays, many pictures from our photographic collection, and a fine display of our many other artifacts.  Admission is free and tours are available by appointment.
