Johnson County Genealogy on the NEGenWeb is a team effort... I would like to introduce you to the team. The order of introduction is by no means related to the importance of their effort.

Chuck Morrissey, lifelong resident of Tecumseh, NE has contributed much of his personal work including literally hundreds of cemetery records and hundreds of marriage records. Chuck is involved with the Johnson County Historical Society and enjoys corresponding with people regarding Johnson county.

Lori Laird, who does the html for Johnson and Burt counties, along with her involvement with her own counties, is someone many of you folks will meet online as you submit your material to this web site.

The newest section is the family bios, obits and family group page. This material is submitted by viewers to coincide with their query requests. If you don't have a family history to submit.....WRITE YOUR FAMILY HISTORY...

Judy Ryden was typing for the Johnson County web site. Judy's last project for us was Johnson County's section of the Who's Who of Nebraska in 1940. She's now moved on as a county coordinator for the NEGenWeb.

Bill Wever was the Johnson County coordinator until his retirement in early 2015. We would like to thank him for his wonderful service and help to the NeGenWeb and Johnson County!

Enjoy your visit to Johnson County.

About USGenWeb

Requirements for Home Pages Created Under the NEGenWeb Project

NEGenWeb was formed in June 1996, when Dale Schneider created the Nebraska Genealogy Project as a part of the USGenWeb Genealogy Project. At that time, there was very little available on the web for those who were researching genealogy in Nebraska . Over the next year, volunteers were recruited to coordinate the web pages for each county. These volunteers were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the county web pages, which would include listing information on where to look in that county for genealogical research. Contact the volunteer shown on the county page if you have a desire to help or add your data to the database. You may notice a message on a county page indicating it is available for adoption. If you would like to adopt one of these counties, please contact the current coordinator of the page, whose name is listed on their county site, or the State Coordinator.
