Carolyn Beth Biltoft THEDFORD — Carolyn Biltoft, 57, of Thedford died in a traffic accident on Feb. 3, 1998. She was born Oct. 22, 1940, in Studley, Kan., the oldest child of Elzie and Vera Morgan Keith. She grew up on a farm near Riverton in Franklin County. She enjoyed her ponies and other farm animals, a love that stayed with her all her life. She graduated from Riverton High School in 1958 and attended college in Colorado. In 1960, she met and married Robert “Bob” Biltoft on April 3 in Geneva. They had three boys, Loren, Leigh and Lynn. She enjoyed being a mother and homemaker for her sons and later for her two granddaughters. Mrs. Biltoft had many jobs in the community. She worked for the county as Bookmobile driver and janitor of the courthouse. She also cleaned the United Church of Christ. In some of her jobs, she shared her God-given gifts like cooking, reading and organization. In recent years, she had received her 30-year pin for membership in the Town and Country Extension Club. She was also active in the UCC Women’s Fellowship, serving as chairman of dinner committees. Her hobbies were gardening, flowers, animals, reading, writing letters to family and friends, playing cards, sewing and quilting. Surviving her is her husband; three sons, Loren of Thedford, Leigh (Danea) of Otis Orchards, Wash., and Lynn (Jana) of McCook; granddaughters, Amber and Brandy of Thedford and Logan of Lincoln; three grandsons, Jeff of McCook and Jordan and Sean of Washington; a sister, Kathryn (Dale) Brown of Goodings, Idaho; and a niece and nephew, Tara and Ron. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials are suggested to the Thomas County Library or the UCC building fund. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. CT Saturday at the UCC with the Rev. Linda Martin officiating. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the church. The Mullen Funeral Home of Mullen is in charge.
