Richard L. “Dick” Church LEXINGTON — Richard L. “Dick” Church, 37, of Lexington died Dec. 7, 1997, in an accident near Lexington. He was born June 16, 1960, at Osceola to Harold and June Scott Church. He attended school and graduated from Clarks High School in 1978, and attended Grand Island Community College for two years. On June 16, 1977, he married Marge Ziemba at Yankton, S.D. The couple moved to Lexington from Clarks in 1991. Mr. Church was an agronomist at Farmland Co-Op. He attended St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He was president of the Lexington Wrestling Federation and was a 15-year member of the Nebraska Wrestling Federation. He was active with the wrestling program at Lexington as his son, Shawn, was a Lexington wrestler. He also enjoyed hunting and being outside with his son calling in the ducks and geese. He was a member of the Lexington Booster Club. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, April Church of Lexington, a student at the University of Nebraska at Kearney; a son, Shawn of Lexington; two sisters, Tammy Church of Clarks and Melody Church of Osceola; a brother, Jeff (Lori) Church of Stromsberg; his mother-in-law, Theresa Ziemba of Fullerton; nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law. Memorials are suggested to his children. A Wake Service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Don Buhrman officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pierce Chapel Cemetery at Clarks. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home is in charge.
