Filbert Cornish BROKEN BOW — Filbert Cornish, 81, of Broken Bow, died Nov. 29, 1998 in Broken Bow. He was born March 6, 1917, in Omaha to Lee and Florence Trexler Cornish. He graduated from Callaway High School in 1934, after which he attended the University of Nebraska. Mr. Cornish was a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 23 years. On April 19, 1953, he married Eleanor Christensen in Callaway. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Broken Bow. Survivors include his wife; nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother. Memorials have been established to the First Christian Church in Broken Bow and the Broken Bow Rescue Unit. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow with Pastor Jim Stark officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Cemetery west of Merna. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow.
