Sonia S. Delahunty
GOTHENBURG — Sonia Delahunty, 36, died Jan. 7, 1998, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
She was born March 2, 1961, at Cozad to Milford and Dorothy Barth Jacob. She graduated from Cozad High School in 1979 and attended Kearney State College. She was a graduate of Queen Anne’s Beauty Academy at Kearney.
On Aug. 6, 1983, she married Tom E. Delahunty and they made their home in Kearney for a brief time before moving to Gothenburg. They later moved to their present homesite southeast of Gothenburg. She had been employed with His and Hers Hair Studio in Gothenburg.
Mrs. Delahunty was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and the Altar Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Mothers of Pre-Schoolers.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Christopher and Joseph, both at home; her mother, Dorothy Jacob of Cozad; three brothers, Gary (Connie) Jacob, Raymond (Carol) Jacob and Randy (Kathy) Jacob, all of Cozad; a sister, Linda (Dirk) Greene of Imperial; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Valetta and Tom Delahunty of Gothenburg.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial has been established.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Gothenburg. The casket will not be open at the services.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Don O’Brien as celebrant. Burial will be in the Willow Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. today at Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
