Merle V. Henry
HASTINGS — Merle V. Henry, 87, father of Robert M. Henry of North Platte, died Dec. 6, 1997, at Park Place Nursing Center in Grand Island.
He was born Aug. 21, 1910, at Wormer, Kan., to Perry and Lucy Ward Henry.
On June 15, 1932, he married Helen Boltz. She preceded him in death on July 6, 1988.
Mr. Henry was a mechanic for the State of Nebraska Highway Department and had lived in Hastings since 1946.
Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn (Elmer) Layher of Grand Island; two sons, Robert M. (Carolyn) of North Platte and Kenneth E. (Marcia) of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Alice Peter; his parents and two sisters.
A memorial has been established.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brand-Wilson Chapel in Hastings, with the Rev. Bill Liddell officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery at Hastings at a later date.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Brand-Wilson Chapel, which is in charge.
