Mildred Knapp BROKEN BOW — Mildred Knapp, 88, formerly of Broken Bow, died Feb. 14, 1999, at the Chula Vista Care Center in Chandler, Ariz. She was born Aug. 23, 1910, on a farm southeast of Broken Bow to James Madison and Elizabeth Martha Rogers. She married Ralph Clinton Knapp on Aug. 29, 1936 in Loup City. Mrs. Knapp started her nursing career in Broken Bow at the General Hospital. She was a supervisor at the Broken Bow Community Hospital. She retired in 1978 and moved to Chandler, Ariz in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Jackie (Emery) Peace of Chandler; a son, Jim (Judy) of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Goldie Taylor of Landers, Calif.; three grandchildren, Michael Peace of Chandler, Bradley Peace of Gladwater, Texas, and Tammy Jo Knapp Carr of Roanoke, Va.; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five sisters and four brothers. Her body was cremated. A memorial service will be held in Broken Bow at a later date.
