Kenneth E. Marsh Kenneth Earl Marsh, 85, longtime resident of North Platte died Sept. 21, 1999, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. He was born Nov. 1, 1913, to Charles and Edith Marsh at Council Bluffs, Iowa. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1932. He was an excellent student with strong interests in bookkeeping. He served in World War II from 1942 to 1945 with honor and distinction, rising to the rank of master sargeant. He was in the Battle of the Bulge where he was in command of a tank squadron. He was a liquor salesman for the Western-United Distilling Company for most of his life. He traveled extensively in Nebraska and thoroughly enjoyed his profession and made friends throughout the state. He was an avid Cornhusker fan and attended most of the home games before his health declined. Mr. Marsh is survived by two nephews, Kerry Lease of Washington and Ron Lease of Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Virginia; and two brothers, Chuck and Harry. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fort McPherson National Cemetery with military honors. The body was cremated, there will be no visitation. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge.
