Juanita M. Morland Juanita Mae Morland, 72, of North Platte, died Nov. 28, 1998, at her home. She was born of July 6, 1926, to Robert A. and Gretchen Minnick Easton at Mitchell. She moved to the Maywood community as a child where she was raised by her grandparents, Bill and Julia Minnick. She married Glenn Morland on June 20, 1944, at Atwood, Kan. They came to North Platte in Nov., 1946 and had resided here since. Mrs. Morland worked at W.J. O’Conners, North Platte High School cafeteria and Ace Hardware. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Ladie’s of the Moose, Eagle’s Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, fishing and cooking. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Glenda (Doug) Young of Elm Creek; a son, Charles (Bonnie) of North Platte; 11 grandchildren, Paul, Jennifer, Kisha, Kayla, Kasey and Kurt Morland, J.D. Baltzell, Michelle Plock, Gene, Matthew, and Bradley Swartwood and an uncle, Charles Minnick. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Billie Baltzell in 1988, and a sister, Jean Baxter. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Great Plains Hospice in her name. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Adams & Swanson Chapel with Rev. Garry Timmons officiating. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, south of Maxwell. The casket will not be opened. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and prior to service time Wednesday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
