Leona E. Nichols MAYWOOD — Leona E. Nichols, 80, of Fontana, Calif., formerly of Curtis, died Dec. 21, 1998, of heart failure at Community Hospital in San Bernardino, Calif. She was born March 24, 1918, at Curtis to William L. and Lulu Wills Linnemeyer. She lived in Fontana for the last 42 years. She worked as a cook for Cameo Lodge Guest Home. She was a home health care provider for 15 years and retired about 10 years ago. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Mills of Fontana and Wilda McFatrich of Prairie Grove, Ark.; two sons, William A. of San Bernardino and Jack D. of Scottsbluff; two sisters, Veda Saeger of Portland, Ore., and Doris Phillips of Cambridge; two brothers, Richard Linnemeyer of McCook and Lewie Linnemeyer of Dannebrough; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at the First Christian Church in Maywood with interment at a later date.
