Don Ohlson OGALLALA —Don Ohlson, 74, of Oshkosh, formerly of Ogallala, died Nov. 29 at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island. He was born Feb. 12, 1924, in Bartley to Carl and Lillian Bead Ohlson. He attended Bartley High School. Mr. Ohlson entered the U.S. Navy in Dec. 1941. After being discharged in Jan. 1946, he moved to Palisade and worked as a carpenter. In 1948, he married Maxine Stoddard in Cambridge. He moved to Ogallala in 1964. He owned the Lazy J Liquor Store until 1986. He then moved to Burwell to build a sporting goods, gas and bait shop with his son Jerry. He operated this business from 1986 to 1991. Survivors include a son, Randy of Lewellen; a sister, Bonnell of Vancouver, Wash.; a brother, Stanley of McCook; six grandchildren; Brent of Lewellen, Colby of Tuckerman, Ariz., Cory (Tracy) of Temple, Texas, Clint of Lincoln, Tara (Brad) Snyder of Aurora, Tonya (Dale) Uelich of Omaha; also four great grandchildren. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Draucker Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ray Norris of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Military graveside rites and burial at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell. Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala is in charge.
