Eddie Tepley IMPERIAL — Eddie Teply of Imperial died April 17, 1999, at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial. He was 81. He was born Jan. 26, 1918, in northeast Chase County to John and Martha Neverve Teply. On Feb. 21, 1941, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served in the Euopean Theatre during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Oak Leaf Cluster and the Silver Star for bravery. He was honorably discharged in 1945. On Sept. 11, 1947, he married Patricia Mae Creasman. Mr. Teply was a member of St. John’s and St. Patrick’s Catholic Churches. He was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and he loved gardening. Surviving him is his wife; a daughter, Cindy (Steve) Balsom of Imperial; two sons, David (Penny) of Imperial and Sam (Kristie) of Lexington; a sister, Charlotte Johnson of Imperial; a brother, John (Opal) of Champion; eight grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Berniece Teply of Imperial. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Joe; his parents; a sister, Josie Keller; and three brothers, Henry Frank, Charlie and Raymond. A memorial has been established. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. MT today at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Imperial with the Rev. Greg Pawloski officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Wuaneta.
